When you are at the Title screen press:

4 times
If you
entered the code correctly you hear a voice with a Japanese accent say
"Easy Game". When you play the game your weapons will charge faster.
Unlock Hyper Laser
Complete the game on Normal difficulty to unlock the Hyper Laser.
Unlock Spread Rocket
Complete the game on Easy difficulty to unlock the Spread Rocket.
